Leadership

Dr Daphne Yee

Chief Executive Officer

Dr Daphne Yee was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Apex Harmony Lodge in June 2025. She brings two decades of clinical experience as a hospital-based medical specialist, with expertise in chronic disease management and health service transformation. She has cared for a wide range of patients in acute settings and witnessed firsthand the profound impact dementia has on individuals, families and communities. Her clinical and leadership training spans medicine, research and business administration, equipping her to navigate complexity, lead change and foster multidisciplinary collaboration.

As Chief Executive Officer, Dr Yee is dedicated to preserving the heart and soul of the Lodge while guiding it into its next chapter — building on the foundations of ability-centred and person-centred care, with a heightened commitment to clinical excellence, integrated practices and team empowerment. She believes that exceptional dementia care is characterised by dignity, joy and meaningful connection.

Dr Yee is an advocate for nurturing a strong, inclusive and engaged staff culture. Her leadership approach emphasises agility, a growth mindset, open communication and positive psychology. On a more personal note, Dr Yee is passionate about healthy aging and helping others optimise their health and performance through gratitude, reflection and intentional lifestyle choices.

Dr Betty Khong

Head of Nursing

Dr Betty Khong brings over 33 years of nursing experience across hospital and long-term care settings, with deep expertise in managing complex clinical needs, including infectious diseases, wound care, high-dependency residents, and peritoneal dialysis.

At Apex Harmony Lodge, she leads nursing and clinical governance, with oversight of rehabilitation and psychosocial care. She works closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure care is not only safe and clinically sound, but also consistent and responsive to the evolving needs of residents.

Dr Khong emphasises that excellent clinical care is the foundation of what we do, and is strengthened by equal attention to daily living, meaningful engagement, and the relationships that sustain dignity and a sense of self. She is particularly committed to strengthening care practices that support both residents and those who care for them. She anchors her work in a simple principle: that every individual deserves the opportunity to live well, and to leave well.
