Tender Loving Care, TLC, CRDL
Despite a life of hardships, Mdm Lim Siow Eng's caring and thoughtful nature shines through.
As a young lady, Mdm Lim had lived through a tumultuous and challenging life, but she never succumbed to her circumstances. When faced with problems, she remained strong, preferring to focus on what she could do to make the best of her situation. Despite her hardy nature, Mdm Lim is one of the most gentle and jovial residents in the Lodge’s Periwinkle Home.

Read how Mr Amdan is meaningfully engaged at the Lodge through the environmental design
Mr Amdan has held various positions previously, including being a Taekwondo instructor, serving in the police force, and even a bodyguard. He was highly independent but it took him some time to settle into the Lodge. Initially, he struggled with aggressive tendencies when his needs were not met in a timely manner. With time, he has come to embrace a new lifestyle at the Lodge.
An Emotionally Safe and Secure Environment for Me!
Tender Loving Care, TLC, CRDL
With the right care and engagement, Mr Poh Chin Huat blossoms into a jovial gentleman!
When Mr Poh Chin Huat was first admitted to one of the Tender Loving Care Homes at the Lodge in 2020, he had difficulties adjusting to the new environment. He resisted care from the staff and declined participation in any activities. Mealtimes were also challenging for Mr Poh as he often refused to finish his food. Based on the staff’s knowledge, skills and experience, they knew Mr Poh’s behaviour was not done on purpose. Instead, he likely had unmet needs and aspirations that were not adequately addressed.
No Worries, I’m Happy!

Mr Ng Soon Teck goes above and beyond to assist other residents in need
On any given day, it is commonplace to see Mr Ng seated with his back bent slightly over the table, laser-focused on ensuring three tiny seeds are placed in each hole of the planting slab. This is part of Work@Lodge, one of the signature programmes of Assisted Living homes at the Lodge. The programme was designed to meet the occupational aspirations of residents who still maintain high levels of physical and cognitive functions, putting them in good stead for vocational activities. To aid Mr Ng in his aspirations for meaningful work, the staff provided plenty of opportunities for him to continue contributing by focusing on what he can do.
