The Resident Engagement & Volunteer Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through the design and execution of person-centred, ability-centred care programs while developing and nurturing a vibrant a volunteer community. This role blends creativity, community-building, and operational excellence to ensure that each resident experiences meaningful, joyful interactions in alignment with the AHL’s core values.
Key Responsibilities:
Resident Engagement & Activities Coordination
- Plan and deliver diverse activities suited for residents with varying cognitive and physical abilities.
- Collaborate with clinical service teams to ensure person, and ability centred programs.
- Facilitate and support daily and special activities with energy, creativity, and joy.
- Identify residents who would are disengaged and increase overall participation in activities.
- Strengthen and increase intergeneration bonding programs.
- Maintain an activity calendar, coordinate logistics, track participation, and gather feedback.
Volunteer Recruitment & Management
- Actively engage in networking and outreach to build a strong pipeline of volunteer support.
- Facilitate the onboarding, training, deployment, supervision, and retention of volunteers.
- Create a structured Volunteer Handbook and Standard Operating Guidelines.
- Maintain a central volunteer database, track attendance, contribution hours, and feedback.
- Organize volunteer appreciation programs and recognition efforts.
Digital Engagement & Public Relations Content Creation
- Design outreach, infographics, and video content to promote volunteerism and resident events.
- Share success stories, activity highlights, and community features via various channels.
- Collaborate with other teams to enhance AHL’s digital visibility and engagement footprint.
Administrative & Reporting Support
- Maintain records of resident engagement programs, attendance, and volunteer contributions.
- Support data reporting, program evaluations, and proposal documentation.
- Provide regular updates to reporting officer on activities, challenges and improvement plans.
- Assist in coordination of cross-department activities and festivals/events.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Social Work, Therapy, Arts, Communications, or related fields.
- Experience in eldercare, dementia care, or social service sector.
- 3-5 years of engagement programming, community outreach, or working with seniors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, social media, and design tools (e.g., Canva, basic video editors).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, confident and empathetic interpersonal skills.
- Strong sense of purpose and passion for enriching PWD’s lives and fostering a caring community.
- Hands-on, joyful and compassionate approach to working with elderly populations
- Detailed-oriented and ability to manage diverse responsibilities, stakeholders and timelines.
